24 September 2008: Chartered Institute of Arbitrators will hold a Mediation Symposium - "The big issues and challenges facing Mediators." Click here for details. David Cornes and Michel Kallipetis QC will give on an update on legal developments affecting mediators.

18 July 2007: public Meeting at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Bloomsbury Square to decide the best way to begin making the Institute a professional home for mediators. The meeting at 6.00pm was chaired by Michael Forbes-Smith (Director General), Mercedes Tarrazón (Barcelona) and David Cornes. Click here for details.

20 June 2007: David Cornes spoke at an evening event called "Mediation: Old Myths and New Perspectives" alongside Mr Justice Colman from the Commercial Court and Jane Andrewartha of Clyde & Co. Click here for details.

11 June 2007: David Cornes spoke at Seminar called "Ask the Experts"  at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Click here for details.

27 - 29 April 2007: a Seminar was held in Trier, Germany, on  "The expanding ADR Horizon". It was a joint conference of the CIArb European Branch and the ERA (Academy of European Law). There were speakers from the UK, including two High Court Judges, and elsewhere. For details click here.

February 2007: The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Journal for February (Volume 73, Number 1) is devoted entirely to articles about Mediation to celebrate its change of title to "The International Journal of Arbitration, Mediation and Dispute Management". The contributions are hugely interesting and cover a diverse range of subjects from contributors in England, Scotland, Australia, Nigeria, Israel and the USA. 4 February 2007: SJ Berwin and the Panel of Independent Mediators hosted a Debate at SJ Berwin, 10 Queen Street Place, London, EC4R 1BE. The motion was: "Mediators have no stake in the outcome." Further details can be seen by clicking here.
