European Code of Conduct on Mediation

European Union Mediation Directive (Cross-Border Mediation)

Adopted by the European Parliament on 23 April 2008. It was published in the Official Journal on 24 May 2008 and came into force 20 days later.  It will have to be transposed into the national laws of the Member States including the UK. The transposition period for the Directive is 21 May 2011, with the exception of the provision concerning information on competent courts and authorities, where the transposition date is 21 November 2010. Denmark is the only Member State that has opted out of the Directive >>
